Derun Law Firm About us Derun is a new kind of law firm in China. Set up with official approval from Beijing's Bureau of Justice, the firm operates as a true partnership, providing our clients with not only the legal expertise of individual lawyers but also the combined strength of our lawyers working as an integrated team. These include Beijing University, People’s University of China, China University of Political Science and Law, University of Windsor in Canada, and Columbus University of the USA. Every one of us has more than one degree, and many of us have been professionally trained in developed countries. Professional Experiences: Many of our lawyers have worked foreign law firms either in China or abroad, and others have worked other top law firms in China. Language ability: All our lawyers have had significant training in English, and all those in our International Practice group are capable of providing legal counsel and representation in English. Multiple credentials: Many of our lawyers have professional licenses in more than one professional field or more than one jurisdiction. In our firm, you can have a lawyer from our firm who is also a certified accountant or a certified asset appraiser, or a Chinese lawyer who is also licensed in Canada or the US. Practice Areas Our firm has been developing rapidly, and we have organized our lawyers into the following areas of practice: Banking and Finance This is a major focus of our firm’s practice. With an established and growing client base of financial institutions, both state-owned and private, we have counseled clients in virtually every aspect of the financial services industry. We have taken an active part in drafting regulations for the Ministry of Finance and the People’s Bank of China, the country’s central bank. Our lawyers have stayed and will continue to stay on the cutting edge in the Chinese law that relates to debtor/creditor relationships, negotiable instruments, international settlement, treasury bonds, international financing, and other aspects of the area. International Practice This is another major focus of our firm’s practice. We provide legal counsel and representation in relation to international transactions, international bidding, and international financing. Our lawyers are experienced incorporating foreign or joint-venture business corporations, handling labor relationships in foreign companies, and dealing with general legal matters facing foreign business operations in China. Real Estate Our practice covers the incorporation of businesses for real estate development, the acquisition of land use rights, zoning and planning, mortgage, leasing, liens, mortgage, and property management. We also represent governmental agencies and municipalities, financial institutions and other clients with a full spectrum of development interests. Securities We provide legal counsel and representation for business corporations that seek public listing in China or abroad. We help business corporations restructure or recapitalize themselves. We also handle corporate acquisitions, mergers, and liquidations. Corporate/Business Practice We address both sophisticated issues and practical problems facing business today. Our attorneys counsel clients in business transactions of all kinds. We help set up, structure and reorganize business corporations, including state-owned enterprises. We also counsel business corporations on tax planning. Intellectual Property We help our clients register, license, protect, sell or otherwise transfer copyrights, trademark rights and patent rights. Litigation/Arbitration We represent our clients in the courts of law and various arbitration tribunals. We provide representation at trial, on appeal and at judicial review.
